Prague music band ERGO was founded in 1986 by František Filip Dvořák.
Their music is a fusion of gothic, renaissance and folk tunes.
It’s the band’s own production and ERGO calls it, with a bit of exaggeration, “modern-medieval'' music.
The band has been performing for over 20 years at various historical festivals, playing at castles and chateaus,
but also music clubs or business events. ERGO also cooperates with various historical fencing clubs or dance groups.
In 1995 ERGO released their first album called “Dáma s růží'' (“Lady With a Rose'').
A music video bearing the same name was broadcasted on Czech television, TV Nova and TV Premiera,
promoting the new album. It’s worth mentioning ERGO’s success in the vide-hit parade on TV Premiera,
where they ended up fourth. Another music video, for the song “Farizej'' was shot shortly after this success.
It appeared in a morning TV show “Snidane s Novou'' and publicistic program “Na vlastni oci'', both on TV Nova.
ERGO has also been performing abroad, mostly in Germany or Poland.
On their concerts, members of ERGO are wearing traditional medieval costumes.

Sabina Kovalčik (band leader) – singing, rhythm
René Polanecký – singing, guitar
